PC Pitstop has outgrown another location! So we packed up everything and moved just 400 Meters around the corner from our old store to our brand new location at 2/10 Bellbowrie Street Port Macquarie.

We needed more room - twice as much in fact and our lovely customers needed more room to park - the solution - this brand new state of the art facility with easy street and pitstop parking.

Do you love PC Pitstop?

NSW Fair Trading’s popular I love my local business competition is back for 2014.

In its work to promote a fair marketplace, Fair Trading recognises that the vast majority of local businesses do the right thing and play a critical role in the local community. That is why NSW consumers are being encouraged to nominate their favourite local business by telling Fair Trading, in 60 words or less, what they love about them and why. There are six prizes of $250 to be won!

Consumers can nominate a local business which goes out of their way to do the right thing by their customers. It might be because of their excellent customer service, or the fact they proudly sponsor charitable and community causes; it might simply be that they are really good on the tools or have the funkiest retail shop in town!

All shortlisted entries will be promoted on Fair Tradings Facebook page, which has close to 40,000 followers. Shortlisted and winning entries may attract local media interest.

We have also created some resources for businesses to use to help them promote the competition to their customers, including a downloadable poster, web images and more. Go to the I love my local business page on the Fair Trading website to find out more.

The competition runs from Monday 13 October – Sunday 9 November 2014.

For more information and to enter go to Fair Trading’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FairTradingNSW

Thank you For Shopping at PC Pitstop

livelocal2

Here’s what else you just did:

1. You kept dollars in Port Macquarie-Hastings.

Independent businesses make an economic contribution that is two to three times greater than that of national retailers (Price Waterhouse Coopers, 2007).

2.
You supported local suppliers.

Multi-nationals rarely use local suppliers as they are frequently bound by head-office purchasing contracts.

3.
You embraced our point-of-difference.

And helped to make Port Macquarie-Hastings a destination for visitors and tourists. This benefits us all.

4. You helped our precious environment.

Local product means fewer transportation miles, and reduces tonnes of pollution and packaging.

5.
You helped to create jobs.

Small local businesses In Port Macquarie-Hastings are by far our largest employers.

6.
You helped our community develop.

Local businesses donate to local causes at more than twice the rate of nationally owned firms.

7.
You invested in local entrepreneurship.

Creativity and uniqueness will continue to be an important bedrock of Port Macquarie-Hastings’ future prosperity.

8.
You invested in the local economy.

Competition and diversity leads to more consumer choices in the long-term.

9.
You supported a local business committed to Customer Care.

You built upon the reputation of this area as the Number One Service Excellence area in Australia

(Customer Service Institute of Australia Awards).

Herons Creek, the sprawling township that once appeared a sleepy hollow, is returning to its former glory as a significant area in Australia’s pioneer timber cutting industry.

Times have changed and the time is now to show Herons Creek for the vibrant and diverse destination that it is!
With the support of the Kendall Heritage Society, The Herons Creek Community Group are establishing a self-drive Heritage and Tourist Trail throughout the district, displaying stories of early pioneers and landmarks of significance, tourist sites and local businesses for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.

The Trail gives Herons Creek a public identity that, in turn, will promote growth in tourism, accommodation and business activity in the district. It will help to educate local primary school students, providing an appreciation of past residents and their stories. Most importantly, the Trail will boost pride in a township which had all but lost its sense of community and spirit of connectedness.

That is why we need your support - individuals and businesses alike. It is imperative that we be able to move forward with the various stages of the trail – most especially long-lasting, safe and informative signage.
ALL OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS WILL HAVE THEIR LOGO/NAME APPEAR ON ONE OF OUR TRAILS SIGNS, GUARANTEED TO REMAIN IN SITU FOR 5YEARS, AS WELL AS ON OUR SPONSORS PAGE AND FACEBOOK PAGE.

If you share our aim to protect Australia’s pioneering villages and people, then it is vital that you support our ongoing work on the Herons Creek Heritage and Tourist Trail. Please give your gift today.

Thanks to Rue, here's what you should and shouldn't do when it comes to minding your technlogy manners!

etiquette-technology-main--jpg

"

Okay. Put down your phone*. It’s time to talk. For the Rue team, Instagram-ing is a way of life, but we realize we can spend our lives a little too glued to the screen. Sometimes, we need to disconnect and actually talk to the person across the table. So when do we indulge and when should we draw the line? It’s a constantly evolving question thanks to technology (Google Glass, anyone?) but it all comes down to what all etiquette is about- being considerate.
(*Unless you are reading this on your phone. Keep reading.)

Do fill your companions in. No one at Rue is confused when I whip out my phone just as they are showing me their newest living room renovations. They know what it’s about, but my mom would be a little more confused. So I try to share what I’m doing with her. “These new curtains are so cute, Mom! I’m going to snap a picture to Instagram later!” Likewise, when you need to take a call or return a text, just let your lunch date know. (And make sure it’s something that truly can’t wait.)

Don’t browse. There is nothing ruder than signaling that you’d rather be somewhere else by casually checking your email or catching up on Twitter. Those are activities for the metro ride home.

Do delay, when possible. Just as I’ll #latergram Mom’s curtains, delay responding to the constant stream of information arriving on your phone. If something’s urgent and the need to respond will distract you then just get it over with, but when possible stay mentally present where you are and save the text for later.

Don’t be distracted. When waiting, technology can help keep us entertained. But when it’s your time to speak to the teller or check out, put away the distraction to keep your transaction quick! Likewise, avoid collisions by not texting and walking. (We know you’d never text and drive!)

Do be aware of your surroundings. Keep volume low on phone conversations either in public places or a shared office. It’s easier for everyone to hear when not shouting over each other.

*Read more Miss Manners stories over here!

DON'T LIE TO ME - No-one wants to get blasted with 'latest-special-once-in-a-lifetime-deals' that was also plastered all over that companies facebook page the week before.

X DON'T SPAM ME - An inbox full of requests to join this, add that, buy this and other butt-kissing concepts is so 2012. And annoying. Stop it.

pcpitstop-australia-tick-of-approvalENTERTAIN ME - Remember when social media was interesting? Make me laugh on a Monday, relate on a Wednesday and celebrate on a Friday. Heck, why not throw in a few surprises on a Sunday afternoon!

pcpitstop-australia-tick-of-approvalINFORM ME - We follow companies for the FREE VALUABLE INFORMATION they can supply us. Key word being CAN. If they don't and do the first two points instead...unfollow.

[Kerrie Eggins]| [Owner] | [Inland Hunting Properties]

Tell us about your business: We are a business which has been around since 1992. We organise hunting tours in Australia.

All shooters must have their relevant state shooters licenses and we also accept bow hunters and some properties are available to doggers.

Some properties make sure all who enter their property are members of a hunting club also.

Feral animals are a massive problem to farmers livestock and crops. Our hunters help to keep these numbers down.

What's been your most outstanding achievement? Our hunters have actually come across poachers who enter the properties illegally and the owners have been able to prosecute them.

How do you WOW your clients? We have clients in the owner of the property and also the hunters themselves. By giving honest advise to the hunters on relevant game activity. We also look after our regular hunters and notify them when we have a new property become available for the first time. They will be the first people we send there. Our property owners are very happy to have responsible hunters through our company helping them with their feral problems.

What are your top 3 technology tips? Keep all data with a good back-up system. Have a specialised IT team who you trust. After all, they are the ones we need if something goes wrong and it can affect business stoppages. Make sure anti-virus is up to date.

What can't you live without? Phone and Emails!

What value and benefit have you or your business gained by being a client of PC Pitstop? Ben and the team have protected our business computer systems for many years. They offer second to none in promptness and attitude to our problems. They
are always diligent in the service they provide and will follow up with feedback on the performance of their employees.

Simplicity- I believe that technology should be simple to use, all our online systems are easy and quick to use.

Backup- If you have ever had your computer crash you will know all too well what it feels like to lose your work. I have thankfully always been very big on backing up regularly and this has certainly saved me in the past.
